8 Festival Internacional de Danza de Panamá: Prisma
The 8th Panama International Dance Festival “PRISMA” is held from October 3 to 13, this time presents “Deals with God” by Julia María Koch (Germany). The performance will be at the National Theater on Thursday, October 10 , At 8:00 pm.
“Deals with God.” Six bodies pass through three different rooms. Its physicality and transformation create images constantly. The image is born to exist and to self-represent the body for a moment. The archetype is placed in the body, a ritual dance starts around the icons. Bodies create their own iconography.
The violence with which an image can hit us is overwhelming, and at the same time, become a desirable and pleasant moment. The icons are superhuman, without weaknesses. The desire to worship something wakes up, the need to follow someone.
And from the lack of guidance and the need to give up control, the deepest inner conviction penetrates us. It is a world full of seduction and beauty, but it is also a dark place: the world we all travel through.
