Día Mundial del Folklore
The National Institute of Culture (INAC) and the School of Dance invite you to celebrate “World Folklore Day”, where different artistic groups will be performing to perform a traditional dance show.
If you wish to participate in this celebration, you can attend Friday, August 30, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Dolphin Hall at the Albrook Mall. Free admission!
UNESCO declared that every August 22, commemorate the “World Folklore Day”, chosen in memory of that August 22, 1846, when the British archaeologist William G. Thorns published in the London magazine “Atheneum” a letter in the which for the first time used the term “folklore”.
Folklore is the authentic expression of a town that encompasses its traditions, legends, customs, music, dances, etc. Precisely these peculiarities distinguish one culture from another.
