On Monday, October 21, at 8:00 pm at Teatro La Estación, you can enjoy “La Comedia de la Olla”. A story written by Plauto more than two thousand years ago, but that touches on issues in force in our time. Acted by three actors, who through masks, give life to 10 characters.
This work is presented by Actinio Project with the actors: Carlos Algecira, Hernán Gariglio and Natalia Beluche, directed by Carlos Algecira and an excellent team behind the scenes, which make it possible for this story to be put on stage.
“The Comedy of the Pot” tells the story of Euclion, an old miser, finds a pot full of money and lives in the constant terror of being stolen. In fact it is discovered and stolen by the slave of Licónides, a young man in love with the old man’s daughter; but the girl is promised to a wealthy old man, Megadoro, who intends to marry her also without dowry.
“Plauto”, author of La Comedia de la Olla, was one of the great comic authors of Ancient Rome, with more than twenty works attributed to his authorship. Little is known about his biography, if he was a soldier and merchant in Rome and traveled extensively in the Mediterranean.
