Ladies At The Alamo
“Ladies At The Alamo” is a play based on the book of the same name by the writer, playwright and educator Paul Zindel. It is presented at the The Guild Ancon Theater under the direction of Ramona Rhoades. Actuated by a cast of talented actresses, they stage a power war.
– Odette Versailles – Dede Cooper
– Joyce Barr – Bella Gardner
– María José Rojas – Costumes (Beatrice)
– Tevia Brooks – Joanne Remington
– Beatriz Martin – Shirley Fuller
The stage is the luxurious reception room of the new Alamo Theater, a regional theater complex that has grown from a small operation in a converted church to one of the glories of Texas culture.
As the action begins, we learn that the leadership of Dede Cooper, founder and artistic director of Alamo, is being challenged, and the Chairman of the Board, a lady of great wealth and lust for power, is planning to replace Dede with a missing Hollywood star.
As the decisive meeting of the board of directors approaches, Dede and his supporters maneuver to overcome the opposition, and when the crisis point is reached, the verbal battles and shocking revelations accumulate. In the end, nobody remains unharmed; and while the insurrection is stifled, the scars of the battle, it is clear, will take a long time to heal.
The functions will be from Thursday the 13th to Saturday the 15th of June at 8:00 pm. For information visit the links attached.
