Noches de Cine Alternativo: Phoenix (“Ave Fénix”)
On Monday, April 15 do not miss with your family a great shoot as it is: Phoenix (“Ave Fénix”) of the year 2014. The film tells a post-war story. He just finished World War II in Germany. The ruins abound, and in the midst of them there is a cabaret, Phoenix, in the form of ashes that reinvent themselves in a new being that is reborn from war. There comes Nelly (Nina Hoss), a survivor of the infamous Auschwitz concentration camp, who has just undergone an operation in which her face has been reconstructed, after she was taken for dead.
She arrives at the cabaret driven by an intuitive instinct, in search of her husband Johnny (Ronald Zehrfeld) and in truth she finds him, he works in the place.
The background is a classic issue in the history of failed human relationships. A woman in love who suffers the unspeakable and who does not lose faith in the love she feels, despite the undeniable evidence that shows that she is condemning herself to seek intimacy with a man that does not suit her, given that He is selfish, violent, disorderly and macho.
