Picasso: Sueños en grabados
“Picasso: Dreams in engraving”. This exhibition shows two different collections of the graphic work of Pablo Picasso (Málaga, 1881 – Mougins, 1973), which he cultivated in all his possibilities throughout his life, and to which he always attached great importance.
As a mode of expression independent of painting, sculpture or drawing, Picasso worked continuously this artistic procedure, making about two thousand engravings, which constitute almost a personal diary and allow detailed monitoring of the trajectory of the artist.
On this occasion, and thanks to the FUNIBER collection, you can see “The burial of the count of Orgáz” and “The double flute.” The first one brings us closer to a Picasso who appropriates surrealist automatism, derived from the Goya’s Disparates, while the second shows us an editorial project of fifteen engravings that reproduce as many drawings and watercolors made by Picasso between 1932 and 1955.
The Exhibition can be admired from Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, from Wednesday, October 9, until Saturday, November 9 in the Exhibition Hall of the Cultural Center of Spain – Casa del Soldado.
