Centro Cultural de España – Casa del Soldado

Venue Description: The "Centro Cultural de España - Casa del Soldado", which was inaugurated on October 18 by His Royal Highness the Prince of Asturias, opened in November 2013, following an agreement between the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AECID) and the Government of Panama that seeks to strengthen the bonds of cultural cooperation between the two countries.

This in turn has created a strategic alliance between AECID, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Spain, and the PanamáEspaña Foundation, which brings together the main Spanish companies settled down in Panama, management and operation. Following a model of mixed management, it would consolidate as a plural and diverse Center, where public-private partnership ensures continuous and varied programming, in order to meet the demands from civil society.

In practice, attempts to answer three major dynamics: the training of the people of Panama, expressiveness and diversity of Spanish cultural forms (combined with the action of cultural actors in the country) and the development of their own cultural manifestations from Panama. The center was established as a meeting place between the citizens of Panama, promoting the exchange and mutual knowledge: a proposal for dialogue to interact together from the difference, as well as from the historical and cultural commonalities or globalization processes by equipment serving the cooperation, cultural promotion and training in a wide, dynamic and contemporary feel.

Programming referred to the Cultural Center and its communication system aims to combine the cultural agendas of other public and private institutions in the local loop.
